I might be a bit late to the game (pun intended), but the English version of Neko Atsume has certainly got me addicted. Neko Atsume has been very popular in Japan and is now taking the rest of the world by storm.
The gameplay is pretty straightforward: you ‘buy’ goodies such as toys, cushions and food to lure cats into your yard. Because feline creatures tend to be cautious, you’d best close the app and wait a bit. When you return to the game you’ll hopefully see cats in your yard. Now it’s time to look up their Catbook profiles or to take some pictures. Or simply sit back and enjoy the cats. It’s possible that the visiting cats have already gone home, but they’ll always leave fish to say thanks. With those fish you get to buy new goodies.
Don’t let the pixelated game-graphics scare you off, trust me you’ll get to love them. And the simple animations of the cats are very cute. It’s a bit like Pokemon: you’ve gotta catch them all. The best thing is that you get to have new feline friends without the shedding hair and smelly poo 😉
My yard is still super simple, with cheap goodies.
Meet my new bestie: Tubbs. He’s like a super sized version of Catootje.
Merchandise from Neko Atsume has been popping up at Strapya World, jbox and AmiAmi. I’d love to get my hands on the above capsule toy set, but it seems to be either sold out or very expensive.
Aww, it looks like such a cute game. I am going to play it. 😀
Hopefully more of the merchandise will become available.

This looks so cute ^w^
I’ll try it out, probably because I like kitties and apps. Hmm, when will the merchandise become more available? I hope it will be more available ^^

I just returned to trip from Hong Kong, I found Neko Atsume capsule toy from gashapon machine in shopping mall near Tai Wo Metro station. Apparently all the gashapon machine uses Octopus card, it cost me $30 HK dollars rather expensive but nice though.
