Affordable Washi Tape and a New Holder

Washi tape Holder DIY idea

My Washi Tape collection started to grow out of it’s holder and I was on the lookout for a new one. After some searching I stumbled upon a Jewelry Box from the HEMA, that I thought would fit. It’s available in a couple of prints for only € 5,-. I took out the removable compartment -which now functions as a great drawer box- since the inner box had the right height. Because most of my washi tape is about 4½-5 cm in width I divided the inner box (of 21 cm) up in 4 compartments.

This is what the box looks like now ^_^ The mirror has been decorated with a little strip of Shinzi Katoh tape.

Please let me know if you’d like to see a little tutorial on how to make the dividers. It’s really simple and only takes some sturdy paper, glue and washi tape.

Cheap Mt Washi Tape on Etsy

As you can see I’m in dire need of more washi tape, to fill the box #firstworldproblems. I’m especially fond of MT washi tape since it doesn’t tear up (as in: it doesn’t break while rolling it of) and is easy to remove. Because of the Yen’s steep drop, Japanese tape is quite affordable these days. I’ve ordered from Sweet Supplies Store and Washi Wednesday on Etsy and can both recommend them. Seller Eriko from Sweet Supplies Store just sent me a picture of my parcel which has been adorned with the cutest stickers and stamps, so I’m looking forward to receiving it. Pictures of the new additions will follow soon!

    1. Thank you so much for your sweet comment! And sticky moustaches are never a good idea 😉 It sounds like the tape-glue leaves a residue. I can really advice the Japanese washi tape ^_^
