You wouldn’t say it, but Hello Kitty will be turning 40 this fall. In Japan her anniversary has already been celebrated with events such as a hug-a-thon, a museum exhibition and special products. And soon she’ll be visiting Los Angeles during her birthday (November 1st) at the Hello Kitty Con!
The Hello Kitty Con is a four-day event and will offer interactive experiences for fans of all ages, including activities, art, exhibits, workshops, lectures, panels, sneak peeks, tattoos, food, fun and many more surprises!
Attendees will be treated to sneak peeks into upcoming projects and can find convention-only products at the pop-up shop. You can also buy rare Hello Kitty collectibles from the past at the Vintage Boutique. If you can’t make it to the Con and live in the USA, you might want to check Target. They will offer special Hello Kitty 40th Anniversary product collections, beginning September 14.

During last summer Hello Kitty took over Shibuya, where you could visit an art exhibition and buy limited edition character goods.
All Hello kitty wants for her birthday are hugs and Boobo & Boona gladly joined the hug-a-thon.
You can attend The Hello Kitty Con from October 30th to November 2nd 2014 at The Geffen Contemporary in Los Angeles. Tickets and detailed event info are available at the official Hello Kitty Con website.
