I don’t know about you, but I love this time of year. There’s been a heatwave in the Netherlands, which hasn’t happened since 7 years. In fact I’d forgotten what summer actually feels like. Metin and I have been enjoying a couple of days off, especially the beach walk (followed by some much needed Mojitos ;)) was memorable. If you’re interested in my whereabouts -or things that I eat :p- feel free to follow me on Instagram.
Last weekend I spent some time in the garden where the Butterfly Bush attracts all sorts of butterflies (who would have guessed) and insects. Sometimes I feel the crazy urge to catch them, but Animal Crossing is to blame for that. So I captured them with my camera instead.
Speaking about insects, I was catsitting in the neighbourhood and somehow a spider(!) managed to crawl up my hair. Back home I looked straight into its face (or body) and frantically started shaking my head. It would have made any headbanger jealous. Mr. spider landed onto the couch and I told Metin this was the perfect moment to show of his masculinity. He sweettalked to the spider saying it wasn’t that large. We’ve obviously got our own perspectives when it comes to spider sizes. I expected a romantic rescue and what what did Metin do? He blew the spider from our couch onto the ground, WTH. I didn’t touch the floor for the entire evening 😉
Of course Catootje helped me out like she always does. This inclines lying or sleeping nearby while I do all the work… If there’s such thing as reincarnation, I’d like to become a domnestic cat.
Lately I’ve been making fruit and green smoothies, partly inspired by the documentary Fat sick and Nearly Dead. For me it’s a great way to get enough vitamines, without too many allergic symptoms. I have to say that it looks like my eczema is doing a bit better, but this could also have to do with the sunny weather.
Did you enjoy some free time? I’d like to read what you did in the comments 🙂
